Parent Asks:
Please communicate the schedule early with participants. Ask questions! Show pictures of Mount Diablo. Find historical connections (maritime) of this area together. (What are Walking Tacos? What are you going to put in yours? Are you excited about this idea? It sounds pretty cool to eat Walking Tacos!).
Communicate this is a safe camping trip and a gentle introduction to overnight camping.
Reaffirm they are all ready for this overnight experience.
Re-enforce body autonomy and consent conversations.
Re-enforce body boundary respect conversations (re: touching/hitting).
Have gentle conversations about language expression (cussing) and calming techniques.
