Big Adventure Day! Today's extended class is an adventure to Castle Rock State Park in Los Gatos!
Prepare for a .5 mi hike to the most pristine sand rock playground in Northern California!
Meeting Point: Overflow Parking Lot (looks rustic) Arrive to the overflow parking lot at 9:30a-9:45a to get ready for the day. Nice bathrooms are at the Castle Rock Ranger Kiosk .3mi distance from our meeting point. There are charging stations here as well. Free parking is along the street, but be careful not to pull too far ahead. This is time to put on sunscreen, go to the bathroom and get your lunch into the day pack with water.
10a Promptly. Meet in overflow parking lot.
10:10a Hike-in (this is not the time to do the above mentioned prep, so please arrive on time, and parents please relinquish kids to adventure)
12:15p Strike/hike out 12:45p Process experience w/ group
1p Class ends
What to Wear -
CLOSED TOE HIKING SHOES/SNEAKERS (NO CROCS)
Layer up- It can be cool in the morning.
Short sleeve, long sleeve pull over/sweatshirt.
Cargo or athletic pants/long shorts. Jeans are a horrible choice!
Sunscreen (apply :30mins before activity)
What to Bring -
2 Nalagene water bottles/non leaking tops
Lunch & Snacks.
Please minimize trash and absolutely no NUTS/NUT BUTTERS Small trash bag
Hand wipes/sanitizer
Sunscreen Bug spray
Climbing shoes (if you have them)
PARENTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO COME ON THE HIKE OR CLIMBING AND THE KIDS PREFER THEIR OWN ADVENTURE!
