Spectrum Adventure Team Information
What to Expect
The team design is an experiential and progressive model created with a unique way of sharing and blending mindfulness, radical self-care, nature and the bond in empowering. In weekly practice, team members learn to work together cohesively making decisions to grow that impact them and their adventure collectively. Each practice includes reflection, social-focus connection, properly conducted warmups, yoga and stretching, a planned training/adventure session, exploration, adventure and fun.
Challenge by Choice
We utilize many tools for active engagement and celebrate all milestones of movement and participation and we prescribe to a self-reliant, free agency model of challenge-by-choice with consent. We encourage agency and radically model voice to consent to support individuality, emotional, physical, mental safety and autonomy. Participants are empowered to decide whether to participate in any activity. All participants and instructors are expected to respect anyone's right to sit out or to opt for a personalized level of engagement.
Experiential Module
Each practice is uniquely designed for age appropriate groups. Healthy habits is our focus for this team year. As sustainable healthy habits that bring joy are explored throughout the season, we are always in movement, exercise and growth. Each practice has a progressive flow, allowing each team member the opportunity to participate every step of the way.

Macro Cycles develop proper alignment, muscle memory and muscle growth, without harming growing bodies. The attention across all teams focus on the following nurturing needs for our participants.

Spectrum Adventure Team is the first nature based adventure team of its kind; exploration is limitless! Weekly practices are a full inclusion experience into the modalities for neurodiverse youth ages 11-19 years old. Each practice includes joyful play, skills development challenges, and social-emotional collaboration. The team explores adventures in bouldering, top rope climbing, hiking, kayaking/standup paddleboarding, horseback riding; and activities in golf, bowling, axe throwing, whittling, adaptive biking and skating support neuro alignment, proprioception and gross motor development. Prioritizing agility and coordination fitness, yoga and breathing meditation supports all facets of sensory alignment.
We access the Bay Area rich nature terrain to learn about ourselves and each other. Each session provides opportunities to explore movement, develop and master skills, and receive emotional, mental and physical benefits of nature-based experiential learning.

Each practice is an adventure! To prepare for practice, plan accordingly to practice activity and weather! Routine and consistency are valuable lessons easy to reinforce at home!

Creating a consistent Routine through preparation fosters a growth mindset and independence.

Footwear- Closed toe shoes, athletic sneakers w/socks and/or appropriate hiking boots. No: Crocs, flops, slides, designer shoes
Clothing- Team shirt/hoodie! Athletic clothing, breathable, layers. Seasonal preparation includes cap, jacket, gloves. No: Jeans, loose fitting clothing. Shorts/leggings should accompany dresses for physical safety

Water Immersion requires time through transitions. Being prepared prior to water activities increases valuable experience in the activity.

Body comfort, clothing comfort, along with choice and autonomy are important to learning and growth organically. Clothes and items brought for self-soothing do need to be safe for all activities.
For safety, long hair must be pulled back and secured from the front of the body and face.
Hijabs /hair coverings will never be removed for activity.
Clothing/Items of religious/cultural requiring will never be removed for activity.
Remove dangling jewelry, rings, and loose clothes before practice
Cosplay outfits and mask can not impede activity or compromise safety.
Attendance
Belonging to the Brown Girls Climbing Team is a commitment to self and community. Valuable skills learned are shared in each practice as educational information is experienced sequentially together. We build trust cultivating community when we are committed to the vision together. Outdoor adventure sports are inherently dangerous by nature. By creating community with peers, team members feel safely seen in trying new experiences. For the ease of community, the flow of practice, and investing conversations of commitment, persistence and perseverance, attending every practice is necessary and expected.
Protecting Our Environment
TayloredFit Solutions is committed to the Role of climate and environmental justice advocates, and practice ethical principles to lower the impact. The following team restrictions allow for maximum use of nature spaces for all.
Aerosol bug spray or sunscreen. Tube or liquid form is fine.
Slime, putty, wax, or crayons.
In respect of our footprint outdoors, do not bring radios, speakers, cellphones or electronic games.
Do not wear any of the following: perfumes or heavy chemicals, incense.
Do not bring marijuana, drugs or alcohol.
Fire crackers, sparklers, lighters.
+Pets (Certified Service Animals are accepted)
+Limit stimming toys/tools to 1-2 to avoid misplacing during activity
Our Process
With trust, comfort, and repetition team members find their groove to transition from school/home/car and into practice. Space is provided for everyone to transition in their unique way. Parents/drivers do not need to stay and are encouraged to drop off and enjoy reclaiming time as soon as exchange has happened. Do not leave child unattended. Please pick up on time by arriving 5-10 mins early to practice location.
A $25 charged invoice is emailed for pickups later than 10 mins past the end of practice. Late payment pick up is due before the next team practice.

We believe in keeping things simple, smart, and human. TayloredFit Solutions policies bounds our communities in safety and reflect the values of our vision.

TayloredFit Solutions protects the rights of all participants in our program and will not tolerate intrusions from the Immigration Customs Enforcement in our programs.
All participants have the right to remain silent and are not required to discuss immigration status of themselves or family members. In the event of ICE encounter, all programs will move to the nearest indoor building and exercises all rights.
We will not entertain law enforcement or ICE w/o a signed legal warrant.
No child or participant will be removed from our program without prior notification to a parent/legal guardian.

We actively practice non-violent communication, behavior and action in our programs. TayloredFit Solutions practices restorative justice processing techniques for issues that may arise from boundary breaking interactions of any kind.
We communicate with all parents and participants openly assure reflection and restoration continues until the next meeting. If an issue cannot be resolved, TayloredFit Solutions, LLC reserves the right to create an alternative solution for any party involved in physical/violent or bully behavior. This may include termination from the team program w/o refund.
Emotional, mental, and physical abuse will not be tolerated. Horseplay, hitting, pushing, shoving, choking and tripping, teasing, bullying will not be tolerated.
Our community is sensitive to emotional, cultural, racial, social, financial, religious, political, sexual and gender identity, ableism, neurodiversity, educational, body, bully and shaming behavior. Bullying and shaming will not be tolerated, and we encourage children to tell, making it clear that we take action when we know.

TayloredFit Solutions staff is current and certified in Wilderness 1st Aid, CPR.
A wilderness first aid kit is always at practice/activities and events.
All participants are required to have a complete registration form with health, medical insurance information, emergency contacts on file.
In the event of an incident not involving emergency medical services, parents will receive a complete verbal and written report.
In case of emergency, parents will be contacted directly.
In the case of medical emergencies, the highest care will be offered for the injury presented. This is not limited to physical such as breaks, sprains, ruptures or tears; or environmental injuries such climate, or food allergens.
Personal phones are off during class. Climbers can turn on phones the last 5 mins of practice for text alerts from parents.
In the event of a family emergency, during practice immediately text Coach Taylor.

A mask is required at and during class/practice if participant is not feeling well or recovering from an illness.
Participants showing any cough, fever or cold like symptoms are asked to stay home.
INFORM STAFF IMMEDIATELY IF PARTICIPANT HAS BEEN EXPOSED TO COVID-19, FLU or RSV. IF YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN ARE SHOWING ANY SIGNS OF ILLNESS, DO NOT ATTEND CLASS/PRACTICE.
Participants in direct contact w/ someone with Covid are asked to take a Covid test prior to attending practice. They may attend class/practice if not Covid symptomatic.
Regarding Flu, RSV and upper respiratory infections, participant may return to practice when pulse oxygen is consistently above 90%
Classes/practice will not be made up unless the practice has been canceled by the Coach.

TayloredFit Solutions, LLC makes adjustments to Covid protocols that are in alignment with state and local policies, as well as private business/spaces. We operate and intersect under childcare, schools and private business mandates and policies.
TayloredFit Solutions Programs operate in nature, using venues/outfitters to outsource activities/events. We follow particular guidelines for each entity and adapt them to specific adventures when needed.
To minimize the impact of COVID-19 in our communities, TayloredFit Solutions intentionally host small group classes/activities/events.
TFS requires all participants, volunteers, and parents attending events to take a rapid/PCR Covid tests for all overnight and camping activities.
TayloredFit Solutions, LLC reserves the right to alter class needs to protect our community during peak teams of communicable health contagions. Parents will be notified immediately for any changes.
Transparently, TayloredFit Solutions staff are vaccinated.

TayloredFit Solutions, LLC is committed to keeping all participants healthy during uncertain times of human, viral and environmental challenges.
Activities resume with air quality in the designated location of 85 US AQI/12 ug/m3 or lower. (Yellow/moderate or better).
A gauge of the air quality is taken daily during compromising times and a notification is sent to parents 2 hrs prior to practice cancelation.
Activity Weather -
Weekly weather patterns are observed and announced for each class activity and location.
We do some activities in sprinkles/light rain including indoor rock climbing, mini golf, bowling, axe throwing, parkour and hiking, kayaking/standup paddleboarding.
In the event of class cancellation due to weather, a make-up day will be announced.

Team Fees & Payment
Thank you for investing in this experience! The financial value in this program is appreciated. Team fees covers instruction, activity cost, gear/equipment, team shirt, supplies, facility rentals, operating cost (insurance, maintenance, storage).
The team program is divided into two seasons, fall and spring. Each season has 6-8 practice weeks creating a session. There are two sessions p/season. Four sessions total [f1, f2, s1, s2].
Full payment is required for every session registered. All participants are required to pay the minimum non-refundable registration fee to complete the application process. An invoice with remaining balance and due date will accompany the Welcome Packet upon complete registration.
We do ask for an investment, we do not turn away for a lack of funds. Weekly/monthly payments, sliding scale arrangements and Financial Scholarship Support opportunities are available for the deposit and fees. Parents/guardians must apply for support for every session of enrolled commitment. An Financial Award Agreement will accompany Welcome Packet.

Enrolling in a new program can be exciting and overwhelming! We are here for the big welcome and smooth transitions.

Practice is scheduled in adventure locations throughout the E. Bay. Most are within 15 mins of Oakland proper. They include areas like East Bay Regional Parks, Sea Trek Paddle in Alameda, rock climbing in N. Berkeley. The schedule is planned 5 months in advance and is modifidy for inclement weather.

Adventure sports are inherently risky, all participants must be able to manage a degree of personal safety that includes staying with the group, and display physical and emotional safety for participants and instructors.
Experience and activity ability is not necessary to join. Team criteria are:
Participant should independent or w/Aide to transition
Bathroom independence or support of Aide
Participant can respect physical boundaries of others
Participant can respect emotional boundaries of others
No elopement or support of an Aide
No displays of self harming behavior
No displays of harming others/aggression behavior towards others

A TayloredFit Solutions, LLC Release of Liability Waiver & Photo Release is required for every participant enrolled in Tayloredfit Solutions, LLC/Brown Girls Climbing programs, events, activities. This may include volunteers, and/or parents participating in activities.
A waiver for will be required for every activity utilizing a facility or outfitter. Some waivers may be individual or grouped. Most companies will keep a waiver on file for 1 year. Complete the following waivers prior to practice/activities
