Outdoor Educator Institute Celebratory Engagement
Transitions
After a decade of cultivating Black, Indigenous, and People of Color outdoor leaders across California, Justice Outside announces the transition of its flagship Outdoor Educators Institute (OEI) to owner, director, professional coach and facilitator of TayloredFit Solutions, LLC, Emily Taylor.
The free training program—one of the few of its kind in the nation—has equipped hundreds of young adults ages 18–26 with wilderness certifications, career pathways, and lifelong community connections in a field where people of color remain critically underrepresented. TayloredFit Solutions guiding, facilitation, has been an integral part of the OEI success with her 10 year investment of OEI facilitating cohorts, mentoring program leads and consulting the development of the Alumnx and Pathfinders Programs. She has facilitated some aspect of every cohort; whether it was behind the scenes season planning, facilitating water to rock adventures, or hosting programs during the pandemic, she has been a leader in her dedication to securing a future for Global Majority.
TayloredFit Solutions is poised for its next chapter of growth and impact with the acquisition of OEI and announcement of TayloredFit Foundation, a .
“When we built OEI, we weren’t just creating a training program—we were making a statement that Black, Indigenous, and People of Color belong in the outdoors. Not as visitors, but as leaders shaping the future of this field,” said. Emily shares that belief. This isn’t an ending—it’s OEI coming into its own”
