Brown Girls Climbing Scholarship Fund

Black and Brown, neurodiverse and adaptive people are the most marginalized in the climbing and outdoor adventure industry. Access, affordability, and inclusion is not feasible for many in our community. We are bringing attention to the disparities to change it one climb at a time. Economic support is necessary to continue to serve our community and diversify the future of climbing.

We know what it means to want to join in and not have the financial means to do so. As parents, we often compromise quality culturally appropriate programs for services that harm Black and Brown children. Coach Emily Taylor started the vision of providing for her intersectional Black, Queer and Ability Different communities 30 years ago and through tremendous pioneering in the climbing and adventure industries, she’s finally in a position to advocate for equitable access to the outdoors and adventure from interested equity and adventure partners to support the vision of representation and inclusion.

We use all funds for financial support scholarships for Brown Girls Climbing team and camp participants in need of support, program operations, adventure outfitters, staffing transportation and safe travel lodging for our community programs..

Black and Brown girls are the most marginalized in the climbing industry. We have big plans and we need your continued supportive financial investment to give our girls and program a start up in the climbing, competing and adventure experience. We welcome any amount of donations from people in our communities and the industry. And we generously thank you for helping make this dream possible.

Brown Girls Climbing Scholarship Fundraiser

The Brown Girls Climbing Program expanded in 2020 to include the 13+ BIPOC girls communityf Oakland. All of our programs are growing and team members need community support in accessing the front of the line of adventure experiences. Your donation can help a girl participate and be a part of the next generation of climbers and adventurers and help close the gap of inequality not only for our team program but our reoccurring summer camp series.
